The new renewable energy community of the Alpe Cimbra in Trentino is called ‘Green Land’ and takes the legal form of a Cooperative Community, the first of its kind in Trentino. Promoted by the municipality of Lavarone, it also involves the territorial realities of the municipalities of Folgaria, Luserna and the Vigolana Plateau.
“Green Land” has the mission to create synergies between the various economic operators, local associations, and citizenship not only to produce, consume and exchange energy from renewable sources, but also to promote and manage initiatives of economic, cultural and social relevance for the benefit of the entire territory in accordance with the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
The municipality has enlisted the support of the consultancy firm Elea to initiate a participatory process that over the past few months has led to the participation of various economic operators in the area (food, tourism and commercial enterprises) as well as individual citizens. EPQ is the partner that will take care of the relationship with GSE, the national energy services manager.
The energy community will also use ROSE, the technology platform developed by Maps Group, to manage the production and consumption of energy, to optimize collective self-consumption and the engagement of the different participants in the community.
